    Description

High voltage cathode BCD decoder/driver DS8884A or DI8884A. Replacement part for many Narco and Bendix King radios--Narco Part Number 74231-0001. Also used in many older gas plasma and nixie displays in pinball machines and other devices. They are new and unused.
This part is usually the one malfunctioning if you have several digits displaying the same missing or stuck-on segment in either the NAV or COM sides of the display, on a Narco MK12D radio (and others where this part is used). This part exactly replaces the obsolete and unavailable National DS8884A. Two parts are used in each MK12D--one for COM and one for NAV.
The chip manufacturer is Dionics, a USA-based specialty high voltage semiconductor company, who was the approved source for Narco before they went bankrupt, and would've been the part you received if you'd ordered from Narco after 1998. Dionics is also the current vendor to Bendix King for this part. I have Certification of Conformance for these parts, so FAA traceability can be met. These are not Chinese counterfeit parts that most other vendors are selling--they are the genuine article that are almost impossible to obtain anymore. I have a limited quantity. These parts have 2008 datecodes.
Datasheet and Cert of Conformance included with shipment. I ship in secure, anti-static materials.
Verify your failure symptoms first! This chip will not solve problems with the radio's high voltage supply, or microprocessor. It also requires advanced soldering skills, desoldering equipment, and a magnifier or microscope to replace properly.
